Who runs this site
jimmypslee.com is the personal website of Jimmy Lee Ping Shan. For any question about your data, or to ask for it to be deleted, email jimmy@academyhk.com.
What is recorded when you visit
If tracking is allowed (see below), each page you view is logged with: the page address, the time, the website or campaign link that brought you here (referrer and utm, gclid or similar parameters), your IP address and the approximate city and country derived from it, your device type, operating system, browser, screen size and time zone. This is used only to understand which articles are read and how readers find the site.
Cookies
jp_vid: a random visitor number, so repeat visits can be recognised (13 months). jp_consent: remembers whether you accepted or declined (12 months). jp_region: records whether your country requires consent before tracking (30 days). If Google Analytics is enabled, Google sets its own _ga cookies. Vercel Web Analytics, which counts visits in aggregate, uses no cookies.
Your choice
Visitors from the UK, the European Union and Switzerland are asked first, and nothing is tracked unless they press Accept. Visitors elsewhere are tracked by default but can decline at any time through Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. Declining stops the visit log and Google Analytics.
Where the data is kept
The visit log is stored with Upstash (a database service run on Vercel's infrastructure) and kept for at most 13 months. Google Analytics data is processed by Google under its own terms. The data is not sold or shared for advertising.
If you email me, your message stays in my mailbox and is used only to reply.
